I love you!

I painted this from a Let’s Make Art tutorial about five months after Chad passed. It took me that long to get up the guts to try it. I wanted to do this painting in a single shot because I wasn’t sure I would have the courage to try it a second time. It’s supposed to be his left hand and my right – the dominant hand for each of us – that fit together to make one heart.

When the cancer stole Chad’s voice, he would make heart hands to me. Sometimes he would make this this way, sometimes he did them with his thumbs on top. Either way, they always melted my heart!

This painting sits next to his ash box for now, along with a painting my niece did of him.
